AED-BTX process (with granted patents) is a new extractive distillation technology for aromatics recovery, which can recovery benzene, toluene and C8 aromatic hydrocarbons simultaneously, achieving 30% savings in energy compared to conventional liquid-liquid extraction process. It’s a mature and reliable technology, and has been successfully applied in LG Chem’s aromatic unit.
1. Use original sulfolane solvent as the ED solvent without modification;
2. Proprietary solvent purification technology, prevents the accumulation of heavy hydrocarbons in solvent, and decreases the usage of defoamer;
3. Proprietary tray technology has been confirmed to ensure a high separating efficiency of ED column;
4. By integrating with dividing-wall column (DWC) technology of aromatics separation, capital investment and energy consumption can be further reduced.
