Acetic acid is widely used in PTA unit as solvent, traditionally dehydrated by distillation directly, with high energy consumption, poor dehydration efficiency and high solvent loss. Applied with azeotropic distillation or and liquid-liquid extraction, ADP process (with granted patents) reduces the energy consumption much. It’s a mature and reliable technology, and has been successfully applied in over 20 commercial plants.
1. Entrainers can be iso-butyl acetate (IBA), n-butyl acetate (NBA), or n-propyl acetate (NPA);
2. Equipped D-Flow extraction technology and ADE high performance trays to assure a high separating efficiency of dehydration system, Acetic acid content in waste water is less than 300 ppm;
3. ADP-I Dehydration Process, using azeotropic distillation process instead of conventional distillation process, reduces energy consumption by 20-40%;
4. ADP-II Dehydration Process, by integrating the azeotropic distillation process with the liquid-liquid extraction process, results in a further reduction of energy consumption;
5. Available of complete process design package (PDP) and high performance mass transfer equipment.
